Study Arrangement^
The first year |
Participants will study a full-time Diploma of Vocational Education (DVE) programme at the Youth College. |
The second to third years |
Participants will be employed by the participating companies as apprentices. Employers will sponsor apprentices to study the relevant part time programme^. |
The fourth year$ |
Full time on the job training; Employer may sponsor apprentices to study the relevant part time programme^. |
Allowance & Salary*
The first year |
Participants will receive $1,400 subsidy from the employers for a total of 11 months. |
The second to fourth years$ |
Participants will receive a total subsidy of $15,400 from their employers, a guaranteed monthly salary not less than $8,000# and an average of $2,500& Government Allowance. The total monthly income can reach up to $10,000. |

^ Trainee may obtain more than one qualification during the apprenticeship training, including CVE, DVE, DVE-ELS, Prof. Cert and Prof. Dip.
* Mode of issuing subsidy and Government Allowance may vary across trades and industries. A maximum total subsidy of $30,800 from the Construction Industry Council (CIC) will be given to participants of TSS.
# For apprentices who join the VTC Earn & Learn Scheme on or after 1 April 2024, the guaranteed monthly salary will be adjusted to $9,000.
& For apprentices who join the VTC Earn & Learn Scheme on or after 1 April 2024, they will be entitled to the Monthly Apprenticeship Training Allowance of $1,000 per month during the apprenticeship.
