Distinguished Lecture Series – Adding Value through Design and Innovative Management
The Business with Design Management Course invited Dr Szeto Wing Fu, the Executive Director of Hung Fook Tong Holdings, to a seminar to share his practical and very valuable experience in managing Hung Fook Tong. The story of his success was an inspiration for the students.

EDUPlus Collaboration Project
The Business with Design Management Course has worked with JobMarket on an industrial collaboration project in the form of a cross-campus competition. 20 groups of students from Lee Wai Lee and Kwun Tong campuses competed in writing promotion proposals for the company's website, EDUPlus, to boost its membership application and page view rate. Dr. Fanny Chan, the CEO of Jobmarket, gave valuable comments on the proposals submitted, and the students learned a great deal from this collaborative project.

Creative Marketing Proposal Competition
This competition aimed to motivate students to realise their potential as young entrepreneurs and develop their business ideas by making proposals as a starting point.

Visit to Grey Hong Kong
Level 4 Students of the Higher Diploma in Business with Design Management program paid a visit to Grey Hong Kong, one of the top creative advertising agencies in town. Its mother company, Grey Group, ranks among the largest global advertising agencies, with 121 offices located all over the world. Mr. Desmond Chan, General Manager of Grey Hong Kong, gave the students a marvelous presentation regarding the advertising industry and his company. Students marveled at the extent to which creativity contributes to success in this industry. They gained invaluable industrial information and shared the work experience of Mr. Chan.

VTC Athletic Meet
The VTC Athletic Meet was successfully held on 28th April at Wan Chai sports playground. There were 57 elite athletes from IVE (Lee Wai Lee) and Hong Kong Design Institute competing in this sport event. A total of 6 training sessions for athletes were scheduled between March and April before competition. In the event, our athletes received 4 individual prizes and were awarded overall fourth place.

Visit to Microsoft Hong Kong & Digital Media Centre
Students of the Higher Diploma in Business with Design Management program visited Microsoft Hong Kong Limited and Digital Media Centre at Cyberport. Microsoft Hong Kong provided our students with a valuable lecture, site-visit and experience of Xbox360. The guide of Digital Media Centre introduced our students to the process of digital media production and the technologies of integrating live presenters with 3D computer-generated environments. The activity gave our students valuable new insights into IT development and digital media production.

Cross-Border Visit
The aims of the visit were to provide our students with the opportunities to visit different kinds of enterprises and to learn about the business environment in mainland China. In this 1-day cross-border trip, students visited "China State Construction International Holdings Limited" and "Shenzhen National Cartoon & Animation Industry Base". They found that this trip helped them to better understand what they had learnt from their Sales and Marketing course.
