Welcome to the homepage of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Haking Wong)

Founded in 1977, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) at Haking Wong (HW) was named after its donor Dr. Haking Wong. Courses are offered at the Lai Chi Kok Road main campus, which is conveniently located near Cheung Sha Wan MTR station, as well as in the Billion Plaza Centre and the Waterfront Annex.

We offer quality full-time and part-time vocational education, with dual emphases on theory and practice, all the while championing students’ whole-person development. There are three academic departments, namely Business (BA), Engineering (ENG) and Hospitality (HT), which are supported by the Language Centre (LC) and Student Development Office (SDO).

IVE (Haking Wong) continuously upgrades campus facilities to build up an environment conducive to effective teaching and learning. Through close collaboration with industries and other educational institutions, our curriculum is regularly updated to better suit the changing manpower needs of the economy. The Campus also offers tailored courses for Non-Chinese speaking students where local students enjoy harmonious relationship with those from different cultures and backgrounds.

To support VTC’s mission of providing in-service training with lifelong learning and enhancing employability for working adults, IVE (Haking Wong) strives to deliver quality and relevant programmes tailored to the needs of the working population.
