Centre for Independent Language Learning (CILL)
The CILL brings language learning outside the classroom. We provide an open learning space alongside a variety of activities and self-access resources to enhance students’ proficiency in English, Putonghua, and Cantonese. To facilitate language immersion, our native English-speaking Project Coordinators offer consultations, chat groups, cultural workshops, and festive events, to help students become confident language users. Students can volunteer to join the English Ambassador Team (EAT) to organise CILL activities with our Project Coordinators. We also create fun and engaging language-related posts and interact with students on our Instagram. |

We offer workshops on a wide range of topics, from foreign languages to cultures, music to fashion. The class size is kept under 10 to maximise student participation and interaction. |

Cultural interactions happen naturally with our student-centred approach to learning. Students can drop by and chat with our Project Coordinators over a game of Scrabbles, chess, or Mario Kart. |

A good collection of movies is available. Students can also sign up for movie screenings which come with discussions to facilitate language learning. |

Chinese culture activities are held for our non-Chinese speaking students to let them have a taste of the local arts and delicacies. |
