    Exchange Programmes

    In the past year, students of IVE Hospitality Discipline had opportunities to widen their global horizons through ranges of outbound exchange programmes in the United Kingdom, Austria, Australia, France, Dubai, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia etc.

    Taiwan
    Students from the Higher Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management had a chance to visit well-known cafes which were operated by the winner of Barista competitions and to experience the whole cycle of coffee processing and roasting at a coffee farm in Taiwan. Apart from these, the exchange activity with "National Kaosiung University of Hospitality and Tourism" gave students valuable insights into the contemporary hotel and catering development in Taiwan.

     

     

     

     

    Australia
    Students from Higher Diploma in Airport Operations Management and Higher Diploma in Tourism & MICE visited Avalon International Airport in Melbourne. The visit broadened students’ horizons particularly with regard to the key operation elements of an international airport.

     

     

     

     

    Tokyo, Japan
    Students from Higher Diploma in Tourism and MICE and Higher Diploma in International Hospitality and Tourism Management were given a chance to visit JTB travel agency in Japan. They were led by the JTB’s senior management to observe local travel agency operations, and to learn about various travel products and services such as tours, packages and visa applications.

     

     

     

     

    Scotland, the United Kingdom
    Students from Higher Diploma in Tourism and MICE and Higher Diploma in Airport Operations Management participated in the study programme at the City of Glasgow College (CoGC) in Scotland.

     

     

     

    France
    Students from Higher Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management and Higher Diploma in International Hospitality and Tourism Management participated in the French Wine Study Tour. The tour enriched their professional knowledge as they could gain a better understanding of the wine culture in France and the process of wine making in general.

     

     

     

    Austria
    Students from Higher Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management and Higher Diploma in International Hospitality and Tourism Management attended the exchange programme at Tourism Schools Salzburg in Austria. They received hotel management training delivered by the hosting institute such as European cuisine cooking class, wine service, sustainability in Austria, etc. Students also visited different hotels and took a one-day tour to Salzburg where the movie “Sound of Music” was filmed.

     

     

     

     

    Dubai
    Students from Higher Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management and Higher Diploma in International Hospitality and Tourism Management attended an exchange programme offered by The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management (EAHM) in Dubai. Apart from attending lectures at EAHM, the itinerary also included the world’s only 7-star hotel, Dubai World Trade Centre, as well as major attractions such as Desert Safari and Louvre Museum of Abu Dhabi.

     

     

     

     

    Malaysia
    Students from Higher Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management attended the Worldchefs Congress and Expo in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

     

     

     

     

    Vietnam
    Hospitality students joined an educational study tour on the Royal Caribbean Cruise – Voyager of the Seas to Vietnam. The tour provided students with a valuable learning experience about cruise and MICE events operations. The General Manager of Lotus Tours was invited to deliver a seminar on the topic of MICE and cruise business development. Behind-the-scenes tour was arranged for students to understand cruise operations in a real working environment.
