In partnership with the British Council, the Language Centre organises a series of workshops and chat groups. The British Council Project Coordinators (PC) hold workshops on different topics suitable for students of various levels. Workshops on informal business communications, customer services and American slang are often popular among students. Other topics including fashion and design are areas of interest as well. Interaction is always emphasized in the activity. Students are encouraged to mingle with the PCs and teachers in English. Contributions of ideas from students are always highly valued.

The English Activity Team is made up of students who are energetic and enthusiastic about promoting English-learning in a fun and interactive manner. The Team organises a series of cultural and fun activities on campus throughout the year, for instance, International Food Market, Thanksgiving Party, Christmas Party, Valetine’s Day Chocolate-making and Easter Egg Hunt.

The Putonghua Activity Team organizes a good mix of thematic activities, such as Chinese tea art, Chinese floral arrangement, Chinese painting and Lunar New Year Celebration. The aim of these activities is to cultivate a Putonghua-learning atmosphere on campus and at the same time, provide an authentic context for students to practice using Putonghua and have a better understanding of the Chinese culture.
