Major Duties: |
(a) |
To oversee the operations of all functional areas of the Strategic Account Management (SAM) Team, including: |
|
(i) |
assist the management in steering, coordinating and implementing the strategic initiative on SAM, support and coordinate the development and implementation of the relevant initiatives and projects; and |
|
(ii) |
establish industry networking, solicit partnership opportunities and cross-disciplinary collaborations with industries and academic departments; as well as with professional bodies / Government bodies on collaborative arrangements; |
(b) |
To plan, manage and oversee one or more of the following functions: |
|
(i) |
provision of secretariat support and organisation of activities relating to Training Boards, Working Parties, project-based committees and working groups; |
|
(ii) |
conducting manpower survey & updates, and publication of timely, high-quality reports; |
|
(iii) |
coordination and organisation of large events; |
|
(iv) |
contribution to the ongoing development & administration of work systems such as the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System, or Memorandum of understanding (MoU) Repository, or Occupation Dictionary & Manpower Survey Information System, etc.; and |
|
(v) |
planning, development and implementation of new projects; |
(c) |
To initiate, develop and drive reviews on policies and practices of the scope of operations under his / her purview; |
(d) |
To plan, administer and monitor the staffing manpower and other resources under his / her purview and draw up relevant budgets to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and |
(e) |
To establish and maintain linkage, and to ensure close communication with internal and external stakeholders, including strategic partners, chambers, professional and trade associations, training providers, government departments and public bodies, to foster effective implementation of function(s) of the team under his / her purview. |

Requirements: |
(a) |
A recognised degree or equivalent. Additional relevant academic or professional qualifications would be an advantage; |
(b) |
At least 10 years’ relevant experience at managerial level, preferably with knowledge and experience in handing committees’ work, partnership engagement, managing large-scale events / projects, conducting market research or planning, or a related area; |
(c) |
Candidates with industry experience on skilled trades, such as engineering and / or hospitality and / or media and communication industries, would be preferred; |
(d) |
Strong leadership and capability to proactively take forward the initiatives and projects for the development of SAM, both in Hong Kong and GBA; |
(e) |
Good record of networking and establishing partnerships with industrial stakeholders, management of events / projects; |
(f) |
Solid experience in pitching new collaborations with the industry, professional bodies or different Operational Units in VTC; |
(g) |
Strong skills and abilities in organisational development, communication, problem-solving, administration, networking and information analysis; and |
(h) |
The ability to lead teams effectively and work under pressure. |

Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |

Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment. |
(3) |
The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and / or outside campus and travel outside Hong Kong when needed. |
