The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is a member institute of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 2012. It is an innovative, professional and entrepreneurial organisation committed to greening and sustainability. THEi offers more than 20 professional "Applied Science-Oriented" degree programmes across six Academic Departments: Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology. Major Duties: |
The appointee shall report to the Vice President (Academic) on the planning, development, implementation and review of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Digital Transformation programme. The Programme aims to develop students’ understanding and capability to become digital transformers, manage transformation and innovation in the current business environment. The Programme will offer two specialised streams, one in ‘Digital Business and Leadership’ and the other in ‘Digital Technology and Innovation’. |

The appointee will need to provide strong academic leadership in the formulation of learning and teaching strategies; curriculum development in one of the following streams: |

The appointee will take part in teaching and supervising student work; delivering quality programme; and leading and participating in scholarly activities, including but not limited to research, consultancy, networking, collaboration with industry and promoting the Institute and the programme. S/he will also be expected to maintain close contacts with industry, commerce, and other educational institutes on collaborative arrangement to promote and ensure the relevance and excellence of the programme. Experience in new programme development and accreditation is highly preferred. |

The appointee will provide face-to-face and potentially online instruction at the graduate or undergraduate level in both business administration and related courses as well as maintaining a record of excellence in teaching, student advising and career mentoring. The appointee at Professor / Associate Professor rank will be required to oversee the MBA and related programmes and be heavily involved in the accreditation of the MBA degree programme. S/he will also have the unique opportunity to lead the inaugural Master degree programme of THEi. |

Requirements: |
The successful candidate should have a recognised Doctoral degree in one of the following areas: Business Administration; Digital Business; Information Technology; Digital Technology and Innovation or related disciplines, with relevant teaching experience at tertiary level; demonstrate achievement (or good potential for achievement) in research and scholarly activities, and experience in professional practice in the relevant fields; and have high proficiency in English and Chinese, including Putonghua. S/he must also fulfil one of the following criteria: |

Mother tongue/language is Putonghua; or |
(b) |
Received a recognised bachelor’s degree or above of which the Medium of Instruction (MOI) was Putonghua; or |
(c) |
At least 3 years’ work experience in Mainland China or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or |
(d) |
Achieved at least Grade 2 Level B in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) - Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Commission on Language Work. |
