    Term Officer
    Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong

    The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is a member institute of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 2012. It is an innovative, professional and entrepreneurial organisation committed to greening and sustainability. THEi offers more than 20 professional "Applied Science-Oriented" degree programmes across six Academic Departments: Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology. These programmes cover industries with growth potential in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region. The programmes integrate practical applications with theoretical knowledge to ensure that students can effectively apply what they have learned. Our degree programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, as well as by the relevant professional bodies where appropriate. By adopting an applied Science-Oriented teaching approach and focusing on applied Bachelor's degree programmes, THEi equips students with professional skills and knowledge to meet various future challenges upon graduation. THEi also collaborates closely with the industry and engage students in active learning pedagogies including a strong emphasis on project-based learning involving real-world problem-solving with and for local industries and professions.

    Contract Period:
    6 months
     
    Major Duties:
    (a) Perform administrative duties in one or more of the following areas:
      (i) Student admission, administration and support services;
      (ii) Human resources management and support services;
      (iii) Work-integrated learning of students;
      (iv) Collection and refund of tuition fees;
      (v) Administering of Government’s subsidy schemes, including application vetting and preparation of returns to Education Bureau, subsidy disbursement and maintenance of student records;
      (vi) Establishment and administration of scholarship schemes including selection of awardees and scholarship disbursement; and
      (vii) Various systems set-up, implementation and enhancements.
    (b) Supervise and co-ordinate the work of clerical and supporting staff and ensure the effective delivery of services;
    (c) Prepare statistics and compile reports relevant to admission, enrollment and academic performance for programme planning and accreditation exercises;
    (d) Assist in the formulation, implementation and review of operational policies, systems and procedures;
    (e) Undertake committee work in various meetings, committees and boards;
    (f) Help formulate and implement the quality assurance policy; and
    (g) Provide executive and secretarial support to projects, functions and events.
       
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised degree or equivalent qualification;
    (b) At least 2 years’ relevant work experience at executive level, preferably in educational institutions or comparable organisations;
    (c) Good communication, inter-personal, organisational and administrative skills;
    (d) A pro-active approach and ability to work independently; and
    (e) Good command of English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.
         
    Notes:
    (1) Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a written test.
    (2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays.
    (3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
    (4) The appointee will work at Tsing Yi campus.
