    Senior Instructor (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering / Marine Engineering / Aviation Operations)

    Major Duties:
    (a) To perform teaching duties including student assessment, develop and review syllabi and teaching and learning packages, operate and maintain training facilities and equipment for practical modules related to aircraft maintenance / marine engineering / aviation operations;
    (b) To carry out academic related administration duties;
    (c) To support budgeting, fund control, acquisition, maintenance and commissioning of facilities, equipment and materials for the training centre;
    (d) To assist in the liaison with internal and external stakeholders on planning and setting up of venues and programmes of the training centre;
    (e) To assist in coordinating / organising events, functions and competitions of the training centre;
    (f) To supervise and coordinate staff in performing teaching duties, operating and maintaining training facilities, conducting trade tests, and carrying out relevant support duties; and
    (g) To maintain and enhance networks with related associations and professional bodies.
       
    Requirements:
    (a) A relevant recognised higher diploma or equivalent professional qualifications;
    (b) At least 6 years’ work experience in the relevant industry, preferably with solid practical training experience in aircraft or engine maintenance / aviation operations / marine engineering / Non-destructive testing (NDT) / composite or sheet metal repairing / painting;
    (c) Proficiency in both Chinese and English, preferably including Putonghua;
    (d) Good supervisory, communication and interpersonal skills, and good administrative abilities;
    (e) Proactive, self-motivated and willing to learn; and
    (f) The ability to pass a trade test.
       
    Notes:
    (1) Candidates without the required academic qualification stated in the Requirement (a) above but possessing 8 years’ work or teaching experience in the relevant industry may also apply.  Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
    (2) Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Instructor.
    (3) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
    (4) The initial posting is in the Aviation and Maritime Education Centre of IVE (Tsing Yi).
    (5) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned.
