    Procurement Assistant
    Various Operational Units

    Major Duties:
    (a) To provide day-to-day purchasing and stores operation services in the following key areas:
      (i) small value / tender / quotation purchases;
      (ii) receipt and inspection of stores, condemnation and disposal of stores;
      (iii) stores recording and stocktaking; and
      (iv) supplier registration and maintenance of supplier performance records;
    (b) To ensure that the laid down policies, rules and procedures in respect of purchasing / stores operations are properly followed;
    (c) To provide purchasing / stores data and analysis for the management;
    (d) To co-ordinate the workflow within the unit / sub-unit;
    (e) To assist in drafting simple correspondence; and
    (f) To handle enquiries relating to purchasing / stores operations.
     
    Requirements:
    (a) (i) Level 2 or above in 5 subjects, including English Language*, Chinese Language and Mathematics, in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination, or equivalent^; OR
      (ii) Level 2 / Grade E or above in 5 subjects including English Language (Syllabus B)*, Chinese Language and Mathematics in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE); OR
      (iii) Diploma of Applied Education + Maths Plus / Diploma Yi Jin + Mathematics / Project Yi Jin; OR
      (iv) A recognised Certificate / Diploma / Foundation Diploma / Foundation Certificate / Diploma of Foundation Studies; OR
      (v) A recognised Associate Degree / Higher Diploma or above.
    * Completion of Hong Kong Vocational English Programme (HKVEP) at Level 2 / Passing 5 specific VTC’s Vocational English Module Certificates is considered an alternative qualification.
    ^ “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in HKDSE Examination are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects.
    (b) Proficiency in computer software application, such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
    (c) Good working attitude, team player and be customer-oriented;
    (d) Experience in purchasing foodstuff will be an advantage; and
    (e) Preferably with relevant work experience in related field.
       
    Notes:
    (1) The post is at the rank of “Executive Assistant II”.
    (2) Applicants who have responded to the advertisement in the last six months need not re-apply.
    (3) Appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours.
    (4) Appointee(s) may be posted to any operational units in the Council at different locations in order to meet operational needs.
