    Health and Safety Officer
    Corporate Environmental and Sustainable Development Office

    Major Duties:
    (a)
     
    To collaborate with campus/site management and relevant committees to ensure alignment and coordination in the management of reported occupational health and safety cases; 
    (b) To provide administrative support for the recording system for all reported occurrences;
    (c)
     
    To assist in conducting risk assessments and formulating mitigation measures to control occupational health and safety hazards;
    (d)
     
    To support in monitoring compliance with the procedures and timelines for handling reported occupational health and safety cases;
    (e)
     
    To support in monitoring compliance with the procedures and timelines for handling reported occupational health and safety cases;
    (f)
     
    To assist in data entry, archiving records and maintaining database of reported cases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity;
    (g)
     
    To compile and organise documentation and presentations related to occupational health and safety reports, risk assessments, mitigation strategies and compliance records; and
    (h)
     
    To provide suggestions for enhancing the effectiveness of the reporting system and participate in the implementation of improvement initiatives.
       
    Requirements:
    (a)
     
    A recognised degree in Engineering, Science or Occupational Health & Safety related disciplines, or a corporate membership of the relevant professional institution, or equivalent;  
    (b)
     
    At least 2 years’ relevant post-qualification experience as Registered Safety Officer, preferably in educational institutions or major organisations;
    (c) Qualification of Registered Safety Officer under the Labour Department or equivalent;
    (d) Good problem solving, time management and team building skills;
    (e) Good communication, interpersonal and organisation skills at all levels; and
    (f) Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
       
    Notes:
    (1) The post is at the rank of Officer. 
    (2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
    (3) Appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or at different work locations.
