    Senior Health and Safety Manager
    Corporate Environmental and Sustainable Development Office

    Major Duties:
    (a)
     
    To develop, oversee and implement a comprehensive system that effectively promotes and manages the reporting of occupational health and safety matters;  
    (b) To be the administrator of the recording system for all reported occurrence;
    (c)
     
    To establish the risk assessment methodology including defining risk and severity ratings and criteria for systematic analysis of reported occupational health and safety matters;
    (d)
     
    To conduct and advise on risk assessments based on the nature and level of risk associated with identified occupational hazards;
    (e) To recommend and execute mitigation strategies aimed at preventing the recurrences of incidents and accidents;
    (f)
     
    To analyse records of reported occupational health and safety matters, and prepare reports and presentations for management review and sharing with stakeholders; and
    (g)
     
    To evaluate the effectiveness and identify opportunities for enhancing the reporting system, promoting best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in occupational health and safety reporting.
       
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised degree in Engineering, Science or Occupational Health & Safety related disciplines, or equivalent;  
    (b)
     
    Corporate membership of a relevant professional institution in the field of occupational health & safety, industrial hygiene or equivalent;
    (c)
     
    At least 7 years’ relevant post-qualification experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably in educational institutions or major organisations;
    (d)
     
    Preferably hold a qualification of Registered Safety Officer / Safety Auditor under the Labour Department or equivalent;
    (e) Sound management capability and ability to work independently;
    (f) Good communication, interpersonal and organisation skills at all levels; and
    (g) Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
       
    Notes:
    (1) The post is at the rank of Manager. 
    (2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
    (3) Appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or at different work locations.
