    Senior Lecturer
    Business Discipline

    Working under the management of the Business Discipline, the job holder will be responsible for the overall operations of e-commerce development.  This includes overseeing programme development, support the implementation of the Vocational Professionals Admission Scheme (VPAS) and the One Examination, Multiple Certification (OEMC) system, and providing an authentic training environment for students to demonstrate their knowledge and trade skills practically, thereby promoting learning by doing.
     
    Major Duties:
    (a) To act as Programme Leader to manage the development, delivery and academic governance of the higher diploma and in-service training programmes;
    (b) To take a leading role in the programme enhancement, internal and external validation and accreditation;
    (c) To support the development of the VPAS and the OEMC system, the initiatives of the HKSAR Government, such as programme design and development, student recruitment and admission;
    (d) To plan and manage the establishment of an e-commerce training centre, facilities and platform in collaboration with industrial partners and stakeholders;
    (e) To oversee the operations of the HKVTC Shop, including planning, sales and marketing, product and manpower management, while measuring, reporting, and improving key performance metrics and sales performance; and
    (f) To liaise with disciplines and stakeholders, both internal and external, to enhance the implementation of Workplace Learning and Assessment (WLA) in the HKVTC Shop and develop its related projects.
       
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;
    (b) At least 5 years’ of relevant experience at an appropriate level of responsibility in E-commerce or Supply Chain, or the work area relevant to the post;
    (c) Proven networking capability and the ability to establish linkages and forge strategic working relationships with leading companies in E-commerce sectors in Hong Kong and the Mainland;
    (d) Good knowledge and skills in IT applications relevant to E-commerce sectors, preferably familiar with relevant professional examinations and recognition in the Mainland;
    (e) Good understanding of Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) in Hong Kong and the Mainland would be desirable;
    (f) Experience as overall operation-in-charge or in a similar capacity of an online platform / E-commerce platform similar to the HKVTC Shop would be an advantage;
    (g) Good project management, administrative, communication and team-management skills; and
    (h) Good presentation skills and high level of proficiency in written English and Chinese as well as spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
         
    Notes:
    (1) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
    (2) Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Lecturer.
    (3) Shortlisted candidate(s) will be required to take a written assessment.
    (4) The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal working hours and/or outside Hong Kong.
