The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is a member institute of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 2012. It is an innovative, professional and entrepreneurial organisation committed to greening and sustainability. THEi offers more than 20 professional "Applied Science-Oriented" degree programmes across six Academic Departments: Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology. These programmes cover industries with growth potential in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region. Major Duties: |

The appointee is expected to provide academic leadership by contributing to the planning, development, and implementation of teaching and learning strategies for continuous improvement in the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Digital Manufacturing. |

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, applicants should possess experience in the following areas: programme design and development; tertiary-level teaching, including the supervision of student projects; scholarly and applied research activities; fostering a collaborative and cooperative work culture; building and leading a disciplined team; leading the team in programme accreditation and validation processes; and providing evidence of proactive collaboration with industry professionals, professional organisations, and other educational institutions to achieve desired outcomes. |

Requirements: |
|
The successful candidate should have a recognised doctoral degree, in Digital Manufacturing, Automation, or a related engineering discipline, with solid teaching experience at the tertiary level. The candidate should also have good professional standing with strong industry networks, achievements in professional practice and applied research activities. |

|
Strong leadership, management and organisational skills are essential. He/she should have good interpersonal and communication skills, and high proficiency in written and spoken English and preferably in Chinese, including Putonghua. He/she must also fulfil one of the following criteria: |
|
(a) |
Mother tongue/language is Putonghua; or |
|
(b) |
Received a recognised bachelor’s degree or above of which the Medium of Instruction (MOI) was Putonghua; or |
|
(c) |
Had at least over 3 years’ work experience in Mainland China or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or |
|
(d) |
Achieved at least Grade Two Level B in the Putonghua Proficiency Test. |

|
Preference will be given to candidates who possess a membership of professional institutions such as the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. Proven records of linkage with industry or professional bodies would be an advantage. |

The Medium of Instruction is Putonghua. |

The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and outside of Hong Kong, and work irregular hours, shifts and/or on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary. |
