The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is a member institute of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 2012. It is an innovative, professional and entrepreneurial organisation committed to greening and sustainability. THEi offers more than 20 professional "Applied Science-Oriented" degree programmes across six Academic Departments: Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology. These programmes cover industries with growth potential in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region. The programmes integrate practical applications with theoretical knowledge to ensure that students can effectively apply what they have learned. Our degree programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, as well as by the relevant professional bodies where appropriate. By adopting an applied Science-Oriented teaching approach and focusing on applied Bachelor's degree programmes, THEi equips students with professional skills and knowledge to meet various future challenges upon graduation. Major Duties: |

The appointee shall report to the Programme Leader and Head of Department and engage in high-quality teaching and related learning activities, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, undertake academic and administrative support services, and supervise students’ projects and fostering a collaborative learning environment. |

Requirements: |
|
The successful candidate should have a recognised Master’s degree, preferably a doctoral degree, in Digital Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, with solid teaching experience at the tertiary level. The candidate should have good professional standing with strong industry networks, achievements in professional practice and applied research activities. |
|

He/she should have good interpersonal and communication skills, and high proficiency in written and spoken English and preferably in Chinese, including Putonghua. He/she must also fulfil one of the following criteria: |
|
(a) |
Mother tongue/language is Putonghua; or |
|
(b) |
Received a recognised bachelor’s degree or above of which the Medium of Instruction (MOI) was Putonghua; or |
|
(c) |
Had at least over 3 years’ work experience in Mainland China or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or |
|
(d) |
Achieved at least Grade Two Level B in the Putonghua Proficiency Test. |
|
|
|
Preference will be given to candidates who possess a membership of professional institutions such as the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. Proven records of linkage with industry or professional bodies would be an advantage. |

The post of Lecturer I is at the rank of Teaching Fellow I and Lecturer II is at the rank of Teaching Fellow II. |

Candidates may be appointed on fractional, short-term or part-time terms of employment. |

The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and/or on Saturdays and Sundays. |

The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. |
