    Senior Project Officer (Partnership Engagement)

    The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is a member institute of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 2012.  It is an innovative, professional and entrepreneurial organisation committed to greening and sustainability.  THEi offers more than 20 professional "Applied Science-Oriented" degree programmes across six Academic Departments: Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology.  These programmes cover industries with growth potential in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region.  The programmes integrate practical applications with theoretical knowledge to ensure that students can effectively apply what they have learned.  Our degree programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, as well as by the relevant professional bodies where appropriate.  By adopting an applied Science-Oriented teaching approach and focusing on applied Bachelor's degree programmes, THEi equips students with professional skills and knowledge to meet various future challenges upon graduation.  THEi also collaborates closely with the industry and engage students in active learning pedagogies including a strong emphasis on project-based learning involving real-world problem-solving with and for local industries and professions.

    Major Duties:
    (a) To strategically establish, manage and maintain local, Mainland and international connections and partnerships, including the negotiation of effective partnership agreements;
    (b) To enhance existing partnerships and develop new strategic relationships with institutions, industries, organisations, etc. to support the strategic directions and objectives of THEi, such as, but not limited to:
      (i) seek external funding from industry partners to support the Institute’s projects in niche research and teaching areas; and
      (ii) co-organise high-level engagement events and activities, including cross-country / cross-region symposia, networking functions, etc.;
    (c) To conduct market intelligence analysis and provide advice regarding the Institute’s local, Mainland and international industry and academic partnership strategies;
    (d) To assist in business case development and policy response papers related to international / partnership engagement activities and risk management;
    (e) To liaise with internal and external parties in matters related to partnership establishment, engagement, management and collaboration on behalf of the President’s Office;
    (f) To prepare and compile management reports, progress update reports, proposals, presentation slides and other materials for various meetings and purposes;
    (g) To prepare and/or vet official correspondence including emails and letters;
    (h) To supervise the work of administration / support staff in the team / office; and
    (i) To handle other projects and tasks relating to partner relations management, partnership engagement or collaboration as assigned by the President and / or supervisor.
       
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised degree or equivalent qualification;
    (b) At least 5 years of relevant work experience at executive level.  Such work experience in educational institutions or comparable organisations will be an advantage;
    (c) Detail-oriented, organised, proactive, with strong sense of responsibility, time management skill and the ability to multi-task independently as well as be a good team player;
    (d) Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
    (e) Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua will be an advantage;
    (f) Able to appropriately handle confidential information and materials; and
    (g) A high proficiency in computer software applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Chinese word processing.
       
    Notes:
    (1) The post is in the rank of Senior Officer.
    (2) Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend and pass a written test.
    (3) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different work locations and outside of Hong Kong, and work irregular hours, shifts and/or on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
    (4) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
    (5) The appointee will work at Chai Wan campus.
