Hong Kong Team Wins Seven Medallions for Excellence at WorldSkills Competition 2015

The Hong Kong Team won seven Medallions for Excellence in the 43rd WorldSkills Competition that concluded successfully on 16 August in São Paulo, Brazil. The winners are LAW Ming-fai (IT Software Solutions for Business) , LAU Ho-ying (Beauty Therapy), CHAN Shing-chung (Graphic Design Technology), LAU Ka-ho (Hairdressing), LEUNG Wai-kit and YEUNG Hon-lung (Mechatronics), SO Ka-yu (Visual Merchandising & Window Dressing) and HUI Yip-keung (Wall & Floor Tiling).

Having completed the four-day tasks under stringent stipulations from 11 to 16 August, Hong Kong competitors have demonstrated the globally-benchmarked skill expertise. This year, Hong Kong brought the largest-ever team comprising 18 members to compete in 16 trades. Since first joining the WorldSkills Competition in 1997, Hong Kong has won 2 Golds, 1 Silver, 4 Bronzes and 39 Medallions of Excellence.
