    Ir Dr LO Wai Kwok, MH, JP

    Ir Dr LO Wai Kwok is currently President of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. He has over 30 years of industrial experience and has made tremendous effort to promote the electronics and information industries in Hong Kong. He is very active in the community and has served numerous government bodies and professional organisations. He was a Council Member of the City University of Hong Kong (1991 – 1998) and the Hong Kong Productivity Council (1993 – 1997). He is an Appointed Member of the Sha Tin District Council, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency and a Member of the Research Grant Council. He is also a Committee Member of the China Association for Science and Technology.

    Ir Dr Lo is very supportive to the advancement of the tertiary education in Hong Kong, and has provided advisory services to various tertiary institutions. He is an Adjunct Professor of the City University of Hong Kong, Guest Professor of the University of Electronic Science & Technology Zhongshan College, and an Industrial Fellow of the University of Warwick. He had served as a Member of VTC’s Committee on Technologist Training from 2002 to 2003 and was the Vice-Chairman in 2003-2005. He is currently Chairman of the Engineering Disciplines Advisory Board of VTC.

    Ir Dr Lo was awarded both the “Ten Outstanding Young Persons” and the “Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong” in 1992. He was awarded the Medal of Honour by the Government of the HKSAR in 2001 and has been appointed as a Justice of the Peace in 2004.
