    Professor CHENG Ming-ming

    Professor CHENG Ming-ming is the founder of Shanghai Cheng Ming Ming Cosmetic Products Limited and the Chairperson of over 20 beauty colleges and organisations. She has been working in the beauty and care industry for over 30 years and was conferred numerous awards. She is regarded as the “International Godmother of Beauty” and recognised as one of the “Top 10 Most Influential Asian Women Entrepreneurs”.

    Prof Cheng is keen on developing beauty products, education and technology. She has contributed to the enhancement of the professional status of the beauty industry in Asia through the introduction of International Beautician Examination in Chinese which helps beautician professionals attain international standards. She is the pioneer in developing beauty industry in Mainland China. She opened her subsidiary beauty school in Beijing in 1986 and has now nearly 20 branch schools under the biggest beauty education organisation in the Mainland.

    Prof Cheng is the Chairperson of the Beauty Industry Training Advisory Committee of the Education Bureau. She was Chairperson of VTC’s Beauty Care and Hairdressing Training Board from 2001 to 2007 and is now the advisor to the Board. She has helped formulate a set of regulated and highly recognised policies for the Trade Testing of the beauty and care industry, and is a strong supporter of the Skills Upgrading Scheme administered by VTC and skills competitions jointly organised by VTC and other institutions.

    Prof Cheng is Member of the National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
