Five students from the Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering at IVE, CHAN Kin-san, MOK Ho-sing, CHUI Tsz-ho, WONG Siu-him, and CHONG Ming-wai formed a team to participate in the Student Design Competition organised by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Hong Kong Section, and successfully won the championship. The competition required teams to design and build a remote-controlled vehicle that could collect solar and wind energy to complete a simulated transportation task. The IVE team outperformed others with their vehicle's excellent load capacity. This competition not only provided a platform for technical exchange but also allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of the practical applications of renewable energy, while showcasing the potential for innovative design in the development of future transportation.

This event will showcase photography works by students from the Diploma in Foundation Studies (Design) programme.

IVE and the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), in partnership with Tam Jai International and the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association, convert food waste into practical household products. Students and teachers from IVE Higher Diploma in Food Technology and Safety collaborated with the Tam Jai Group to extract oil from surplus pork belly, converting it into a renewable material that was then combined with essential oils to create eco-friendly products. Meanwhile, a team of HKDI students from the Higher Diploma in Visual Communication Design and Higher Diploma in Advertising Design created a character called “Pork Belly Angel” for product packaging. Individuals in mental recovery from the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association also participated in the production process. This collaboration not only realises the recycling value of food waste but also enables students to apply their skills while providing opportunities for individuals in recovery, embodying the principles of environmental sustainability and social inclusion.

Students CHEUNG Ka-chung, HO Ho-faan, LAI Nga-sze, KWOK Ka-man, and ZHONG Kwun-hang from the Higher Diploma and Diploma of Foundation Studies in Business at IVE won the Gold Award for Excellent Financial Education Project with their innovative proposal in the Personal Finance Ambassador Programme 2024/25, themed “Money Trap.” This programme was co-organised by the Investor and Financial Education Council (IFEC) and St. James’ Settlement, and funded by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) Foundation.
