Pathway to Higher Diploma Government-Recognised Qualification
The Diploma of Foundation Studies (DFS) at IVE offers 10 streams, allowing Secondary 6 graduates to choose subjects that align with their study interests. Students can learn fundamental professional knowledge and skills within one year while also enhancing their language abilities.
DFS graduates will be eligible to apply for VTC’s Higher Diploma programmes in which they may also apply for module exemptions if they pursue further studies in relevant subject area*. DFS programmes are also recognised by a number of professional bodies. Qualified students will be eligible to apply for memberships or be awarded professional certifications upon meeting specific programme requirements.

Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) Diploma of Foundation Studies programmes aim to provide students with design fundamentals, language and generic skills for further studies. Through a "think and do" interactive approach, the programmes emphasise the theory and practical skills, design application technologies, the creative practices, and the key aspects of the design industry.

The Diploma of Foundation Studies programmes offered by Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT) cover two key areas: Information Technology and Digital Media Studies. These programmes provide students with professional knowledge and emerging technologies in the IT field, such as web design, programming and applications, digital media production, and interactive game development. The programmes also cultivate industry-relevant skills, equipping students with the latest technologies and applications to prepare them for professional careers and further studies.
